The staff at our center has been carefully selected. All staff members, including volunteers, are required to complete and pass a complete background screening prior to employment. The directors of University Station Academy have been carefully chosen for their professionalism, knowledge of early childhood education, and dedication to children and families in our community. Directors hold a minimum of a Florida Director Credential as well as 5 or more years of experience in the field of early childhood development with focus on running a high quality early childhood program.
All teachers at University Station Academy are trained professionals and hold a Florida Department of Education Early Childhood Professional Certificate formally known as CDA or higher. This credential is a Birth through Five Child Care Credential issued by the Florida Department of Education. Assistant teachers must fulfill the mandatory Introductory Child Care Training as well as the Early Learning Literacy training requirement.
All staff members are required to complete 24 hours of inservice training per year. Staff participate in a variety of trainings such as literacy, outdoor classrooms, creative art, lesson plan, health and safety, ethics, and more provided at the center.
